About 'electric motors'-How do Electric Motors Work?








W               &               W               Electric               is               now               one               of               the               largest               service               and               distribution               facilities               in               Wisconsin               for               the               electric               motors               and               industrial               controls.

Our               family               business               was               founded               in               948               and               are               on               our               third               generation.

The               founders,               Carl               and               Marilyn               E.

Wojahn,               are               retired               and               three               of               their               sons               took               it               over;               Ted,               Bill,               and               Keith.

Since               then               it               has               grown               more,               and               now               the               business               is               owned               and               operated               by               Bill,               Keith,               Steve               and               Jeff               Wojahn.

It               is               going               into               a               third               generation               of               ownership,               with               Steve               and               Jeff               Wojahn,               grandsons               of               Carl               and               Marilyn               being               involved.
               Their               three               locations               are               in               Oshkosh,               WI               which               is               our               corporate               headquarters               electronic               repair               facility               and               main               warehouse.

Fond               du               Lac,               WI               is               our               main               mechanical               service               facility               and               machine               shop               while               Waupun               ,               is               a               service               facility               and               sales               office.

We               are               a               member               of               the               Electrical               Apparatus               Service               Assn.

Wojahn:               Founders
               W               &               W               Electric,               Inc,               began               in               1948,               while               Carl               H.

Wojahn               was               working               at               the               Timken               Oil               Burner               Plant;               an               addition               to               the               Wisconsin               Axle.

As               a               foreman               and               chief               inspector               he               would               inspect               small               motors               and               parts               for               oil               burner               units.

The               service               manager,               Frank               Buelow,at               Speed               Queen               asked               him               to               look               at               a               damaged               washing               machine               motor               and               he               had               it               fixed               the               next               day.
               He               was               given               a               few               more               motors,               and               so               it               continued               until               it               got               to               be               forty               or               fifty               motors               every               few               weeks.

At               first,               Carl               would               use               the               kitchen               stove               to               bake               motors               in,               until               he               set               an               oven               out               in               the               garage.

After               the               small               motors               were               repaired,               they               were               painted               and               sent               back               to               Speed               Queen.

Soon               he               decided               to               leave               the               Axle               and               Oil               Burner               Plant.

This               was               quite               a               decision               to               make               because               he               would               be               leaving               a               supervisor               job,               give               up               his               annuity,               and               leaving               a               secure               job               for               a               business               of               his               own.
               It               was               in               October               of               1948               that               Carl               H.

and               Marilyn               E.

Wojahn               went               into               business,               and               decided               to               call               it               W               &               W               Electric               Motor               Service.

From               then               on               it               has               grown,               and               now               there               are               three               shops;               in               Fond               du               Lac,               Waupun,               and               Oshkosh,               Wisconsin.
               I               won't               forget               the               nights               and               days               Dad               worked,               even               on               the               weekends.

There               were               challenges               that               they               faced,               and               Carl               and               Marilyn               would               face               them               together.

My               Mom               would               not               only               rewind               motors,               do               bookkeeping,               and               take               care               of               their               seven               children.

They               were               a               team,               they               are               a               team,               and               that               is               why               they               can               leave               this               legacy               to               three               of               their               sons.

Now               the               grandsons               are               taking               over,               each               generation               keeping               the               same               values               that               this               company               was               founded               on.

The               name               has               changed               a               little               bit               and               is               now               called               W               &               W               Electric               Motors,               Inc.
               This               company               can               serve               your               every               need...with               dedication               and               family               values

    Nevada               does               have               a               few               incentives               for               people               looking               to               get               an               electric               or               hybrid               vehicle.

    There               are               not               a               lot               of               incentives,               however               the               ones               that               are               offered               are               pretty               good.

    On               the               federal               level               there               is:
                   *               The               alternative               fuel               vehicle               refueling               property               credit.

    This               can               be               a               credit               of               $2,000               to               $50,000               for               the               qualified               cost               of               alternative               refueling               property.

    It               is               a               non-refundable               income               tax               credit.

    It               does               expire               on               December               31,               2010.


                   *               The               new               qualified               plug               in               electric               drive               motor               vehicles.

    There               is               a               income               tax               credit               up               to               $7,500               when               a               new               qualified               electric               drive               vehicle               is               purchased.

    $2,500               is               allowed               for               each               vehicle,               then               there               is               the               $417               for               the               first               5               kilowatt               hours               of               capacity               and               then               another               $417               for               every               additional               kilowatt               hour               of               capacity,               which               comes               to               a               total               of               $5,000.

    The               vehicle               does               need               to               be               purchased               new               and               not               from               resale.

    It               must               be               purchased               new               from               the               manufacturer.

    It               weight               must               be               under               14,000               pounds               and               the               electric               motor               must               do               the               majority               of               the               work               through               use               of               a               battery.
                   On               the               state               level               there               is:
                   *               An               electric               vehicle               that               is               a               taxi               cab               is               given               a               life               extension.

    A               taxi               cab               may               stay               bin               service               two               years               longer               then               the               regular               fueled               taxi               cabs.​               The               electric               taxi               cab               is               allowed               to               stay               in               service               for               twenty               four               months,               compared               to               the               standard               limits               that               state               that               a               taxi               cab               can               operate               for               sixty               seven               months               when               it               is               new               of               fifty               five               months               when               it               is               a               used               taxi               cab.


                   *               The               authorization               of               the               high               occupancy               vehicle               or               HOV               lane               exemption.

    Drivers               can               use               the               HOV               lane               regardless               of               how               many               people               are               actually               in               the               vehicle.


                   *               An               exemption               of               hybrid               and               electric               vehicles               that               are               less               than               five               years               old,               they               are               exempt               from               the               emissions               program               in               both               Clark               County               and               Washoe               County.
