About 'high efficiency furnace'-High Efficiency Boiler Fans - Amazing Potential of Energy Saving








Ohio               residents               can               look               to               their               utility               companies               for               financial               incentives               that               help               offset               the               cost               of               making               energy               efficiency               improvements               at               home.

There               are               rebates               for               Energy               Star®               appliances,               weatherization               improvements,               and               energy               efficient               water               heaters,               heating               and               cooling               systems,               including               heat               pumps               and               geothermal               systems.

First               Energy               rebates               on               home               energy               efficiency               improvements
               If               you               are               a               customer               of               one               of               First               Energy's               utility               companies               in               Ohio,               including               Ohio               Edison,               Cleveland               Electric               Illuminating               Company               and               the               Toledo               Edison               Company,               and               are               interested               in               purchasing               energy-efficient               appliances               or               making               energy               efficiency               improvements               in               your               home,               you               can               take               advantage               of               rebates               offered               through               their               Home               Performance               with               Energy               Star®               rebate               program.
               Rebate               amounts
               According               to               First               Energy,               the               rebates               available               for               heating               and               cooling               systems               include               $300               for               natural               gas,               liquid               propane               (LP)               or               oil               furnaces;               $400               for               air               source               heat               pumps;               and               $600               for               geothermal               heat               pumps.

Central               air               conditioners               with               a               Seasonal               Energy               Efficiency               Rating               (SEER)               of               16               qualify               for               a               $150               rebate               and               $75               for               an               SEER               rating               of               14.

You               can               obtain               a               rebate               of               $30               for               a               room               air               conditioner,               $30               for               a               programmable               thermostat,               and               $30               per               hour               up               to               a               maximum               of               $120               to               have               duct               sealing               work               done               in               your               home.
               Ohio               Edison               offers               a               $50               rebate               for               an               electric               water               heater,               $300               for               a               heat               pump               water               heater,               $10               for               a               water               heater               tank               wrap,               and               $5               for               low-flow               showerheads.

If               you               install               insulation               in               your               attic               or               walls               you               can               qualify               for               a               rebate               of               $0.10               per               square               foot               up               to               a               maximum               of               $150.

Duct               insulation               also               qualifies               for               a               rebate               of               $0.10               per               square               foot               but               up               to               a               maximum               of               $100.

The               cost               of               work               to               do               air               sealing               is               eligible               for               a               rebate               of               $30               per               hour               up               to               $120.

There               is               a               rebate               of               $5               for               replacement               windows               and               $30               for               exterior               doors.
               Rebates               on               Energy               Star®               appliances               are               $20               for               a               dishwasher,               $25               for               a               freezer,               $25               for               a               dehumidifier,               $30               for               a               refrigerator,               $30               for               ventilation               fans,               and               $75               for               a               clothes               washer.

You               can               receive               a               rebate               of               $1.00               on               compact               fluorescent               lamps               over               19               W.

When               you               replace               your               refrigerator               or               room               air               conditioner               with               an               Energy               Star®               unit,               pick-up               and               recycling               is               free,               provided               the               unit               is               in               working               condition.

The               maximum               total               life-time               rebate               is               $1,250               per               customer.
               How               to               claim               rebates
               To               qualify               for               the               rebates               under               the               Home               Performance               with               Energy               Star®               program,               you               must               have               an               assessment               of               your               home's               energy               efficiency.

This               assessment               must               be               done               by               a               home               improvement               contractor               certified               by               the               Building               Performance               Institute               (BPI).

You               can               find               a               qualified               installer               by               following               the               link               on               the               First               Energy               website               at               www.firstenergycorp.com               under               Home               Performance               Energy               Star®.
               The               installer               will               come               to               your               home               to               perform               the               Home               Performance               Assessment               and               will               provide               recommendations               on               the               energy               efficiency               improvements               you               can               make.

The               fee               for               this               assessment               varies               by               contractor,               and               Ohio               Edison,               the               Cleveland               Electric               Illuminating               Company,               or               Toledo               Edison               Company,               as               applicable               in               your               case,               will               provide               the               contractor               with               $125               to               reduce               the               cost               of               the               assessment.
               After               the               assessment               you               decide               on               the               energy               efficiency               improvements               you               want               to               make,               and               you               sign               a               contract               with               the               installer               to               do               the               work.

When               the               recommendations               include               the               purchase               of               Energy               Star®               appliances,               you               can               buy               them               directly,               but               you               must               make               the               purchase               within               three               months               of               the               home               assessment               and               you               must               receive               documentation               from               the               store               where               you               buy               them               that               shows               they               are               eligible               Energy               Star®               appliances.

You               only               qualify               for               a               rebate               on               these               appliances               if               you               have               had               a               home               performance               assessment.
               After               the               installation               work               is               complete,               the               contractor               will               perform               the               final               testing               to               close               out               the               job.

You               then               sign               the               Job               Completion               Form               indicating               that               the               work               has               been               completed               to               your               satisfaction.

You               pay               the               installer,               who               sends               the               Job               Completion               Form               to               the               program               administrator.

The               program               administrator               approves               the               job,               issues               you               a               Certificate               of               Completion,               and               a               rebate               check.

If               you               can't               make               all               the               energy               efficiency               improvements               right               away,               you               can               make               them               later               and               still               qualify               for               rebates,               up               to               the               maximum               lifetime               limit               of               $1,250.
               Paulding-Putnam               Electric               Cooperative               rebates
               The               Paulding-Putnam               Electric               Cooperative               offers               its               members               rebates               on               new               electric               water               heaters,               heat               pumps,               and               geothermal               systems.

If               you               replace               your               existing               non-electric               water               heater               with               a               marathon               electric               water               heater               you               purchase               from               Paulding-Putnam,               you               can               receive               a               rebate               of               from               $350               to               $450,               depending               on               the               size               of               the               water               heater.

You               can               reduce               your               electricity               cost               if               you               agree               to               allow               Paulding-Putnam               to               install               a               Peak               Alert               Readio               Control               Switch,               which               is               a               load               management               system               that               turns               off               your               water               heater               during               periods               of               peak               demand.
               You               can               qualify               for               a               $400               rebate               when               you               add               an               electric               heat               pump               to               your               existing               heating               system               under               Paulding-Putnam's               Dual-Fuel               Rebate               Program.

To               qualify,               you               must               purchase               the               dual               fuel               system               and               have               it               installed               by               a               qualified               heating-cooling               contractor               and               then               schedule               an               inspection               by               Paulding-Putnam.

If               you               install               a               geothermal               heating               and               cooling               system               and               allow               Paulding-Putnam               to               install               a               load               management               switch               to               control               the               back-up               unit               during               peak               demand               periods,               you               can               qualify               for               a               rebate               of               $600.

You               can               contact               Paulding-Putnam               as               indicated               on               their               website               at               www.ppec.coop               to               find               out               how               to               apply               for               the               rebates.
               Energy               Cooperative               rebates
               If               you               are               a               Licking               Rural               Electric               member,               the               Energy               Cooperative               offers               a               $599               rebate               for               installing               an               electric               heat               pump.

Through               this               Dual               Fuel               Heating               Program,               the               primary               source               is               the               electric               heat               pump               and               the               secondary               source               is               a               gas               or               fuel               oil               furnace.
               You               should               contact               the               Energy               Cooperative               before               you               have               the               system               installed.

They               will               send               you               the               Application               for               Reimbursement               form               that               needs               to               be               completed               by               your               heating               and               air               conditioning               dealer,               and               the               Member               Agreement               form               that               you               must               complete.

You               can               also               download               the               Dual               Fuel               Member               Agreement               from               the               Energy               Cooperative               website               at               www.theenergycoop.com.

Once               your               heat               pump               is               installed               and               has               been               inspected               and               approved               by               the               Energy               Cooperative,               they               will               send               you               the               rebate               check.
               Duke               Energy               rebates
               Through               its               Smart               $aver™               program,               Duke               Energy               offers               its               customers               rebates               on               high               efficiency               heating               and               cooling               systems.

You               can               qualify               for               a               $200               rebate               on               heat               pumps,               air               conditioners,               geothermal               heat               pumps               and               gas               furnaces               that               are               retrofit               for               your               existing               system,               and               a               $300               rebate               for               new               construction.
               According               to               Duke               Energy,               heat               pumps               and               air               conditioners               must               have               a               SEER               of               14               or               greater               with               an               ECM               (electronically               commutated               motor)               fan.

Geothermal               heat               pumps               must               have               an               energy               efficiency               rating               of               10.5               or               greater               and               must               also               include               an               ECM               fan               motor.

Gas               furnaces               must               have               an               annual               fuel               utilization               efficiency               (AFUE)               rating               of               90%               or               greater.

If               you               install               a               new               natural               gas               furnace               with               an               AFUE               of               90%               or               greater               along               with               a               new               air               conditioner               or               heat               pump               that               meets               the               above-mentioned               requirements               you               qualify               for               a               $400               rebate               for               a               retrofit               and               $600               for               new               construction.
               To               obtain               the               rebate,               the               heating               or               cooling               unit               must               be               installed               by               a               contractor               participating               in               the               program.

You               can               find               a               Smart               Saver               Dealer               by               following               the               link               on               Duke               Energy's               website               at               www.duke-energy.com               under               Smart               $aver™.

The               dealer               will               submit               the               application               for               your               rebate.
