About 'rheem furnace'-Rheem A/C air handler and its annoying high pitch noise
If you live in Indiana and want to save money and help the environment by improving the energy efficiency of your home, various utility companies in the state can help you by offering financial incentives to help offset the cost of energy-efficient heat pumps and water heaters. Heat pump rebates Members of the Bartholomew County Rural Electric Membership Cooperative (REMC) can receive a rebate of $200 per ton for a geothermal heat pump, up to a maximum rebate of $800 per residence. You can receive the rebate for a geothermal heat pump you install in a new home or when you convert an existing fossil fuel system or resistant heating system. When you install an all electric air-to-air heat pump with a minimum seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of 16 you qualify for a $350 rebate. If the air-to-air heat pump has a minimum SEER of 13, the rebate is $250. To apply for the rebate you can call Bartholomew County Rural Electric, send them an e-mail, or use the contact form on their website at www.bcremc.com under Products & Services - Geothermal program or Air-source heat pump program. Customers of Central Indiana Power can receive a rebate of $750 for installing a geothermal heat pump. The heat pump must be ARI 330 certified, with a minimum mechanical warranty of five years, a minimum SEER of 14.0 and a heating season performance factor (HSPF) of at least 8.0. Rebates are also offered for heat pumps with electric backup heat or dual fuel backup heat - either propane or natural gas. To apply for the rebate, you should call Central Indiana Power as indicated on their website at www.cipower.com under Products & Services - Geothermal Rebates or Heat Pump Rebates. Clark County Rural Electric pays its members a $250 rebate for installing a geothermal or air source heat pump. The heat pump must be installed in a new home or must replace a gas furnace. Replacement heat pumps do not qualify for the rebate. The new heat pump must have a SEER of 13 or better. You can download the Equipment Rebate Application on Clark County Rural Electric's website at www.theremc.com under Equipment Rebates. You must request the rebate within 60 days of installation. Members of the Dubois Rural Electric Cooperative who install an air-to-air heat pump or a geothermal heat pump in a new home or to replace an oil or gas furnace can receive a rebate of $250. There is also a rebate of $30 per kilowatt hour for installing an electric thermal storage unit. You can download the application form on the Dubois REC website at www.duboisrec.com under Rebates. You have until December 1, 2008 to submit your application. Duke Energy, through its Smart Saver program, offers its customers a $200 rebate on new heat pumps, air conditioners, and geothermal heat pumps installed in existing homes. The rebate can be higher for units installed in new homes. Heat pumps and air conditioners must have a SEER of 14 or greater and an ECM fan motor. Geothermal heat pumps must have an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of 10.5 or greater and an ECM fan motor. Heat pumps must be installed by a certified heat pump technician. You can download the application form on Duke Energy's website at www.duke-energy.com under Indiana - Energy Savings - Products, Rebates & Other Programs. For units installed in new homes, the dealer or builder will submit the application for you. If you are a member of the Harrison County REMC and you install an all-electric air-to-air heat pump or a geothermal heat pump in a new home or in your existing home, to replace an oil or gas furnace, you can receive a $200 rebate. You can also receive the rebate when you combine an air-to-air heat pump with an oil or gas furnace, and you have an electric water heater. You can download the rebate application form on the Harrison County REMC website at www.harrisonremc.com under Customer Service - Elec. Equip. Rebates. You must submit your application within 30 days of installation. The Indianapolis Power and Light Company, through its PerfectCentsSM program, offers rebates on air-source heat pumps, air conditioners, and geothermal heat pumps. The rebate for a heat pump is from $100 to $150 and for an air conditioner $50 to $100, depending on the SEER. You can download the rebate application form on the website www.iplpower.com under Programs & Services - PerfectCentsSM Rebate Program. Members of the Jackson County REMC can claim a $225 rebate for an air-to-air or geothermal heat pump installed in a new home or one that replaces a fossil fuel unit. The heat pump must have electric backup; a dual system with an oil or gas furnace as backup does not qualify for the rebate. The heat pump must have a SEER of at least 13. You can download the rebate application form on the Jackson County REMC website at www.jacksonremc.com under Member Services - 2008 Jackson County REMC Incentive Program. You have to submit your application within 60 days after you install the heat pump. The Jasper County REMC offers a $500 rebate to members who install a geothermal heat pump. The heat pump must be ARI certified and installed by a factory trained and certified dealer. The Jasper County REMC has the option to inspect the system before it pays the rebate. You should contact them for more information and to apply for the rebate. You can find contact information on their website at www.jasperremc.com. The Jay County REMC will pay a $200 rebate on a heat pump that you add onto your present fossil-fuel furnace and $250 on a geothermal heat pump. You need to contact Jay County REMC before you install the system. They will make arrangements to inspect the system and reward the rebate after the installation is complete. Members of the Kosciusko REMC who install a geothermal system can qualify for a $250 rebate. An air-source heat pump qualifies for a $150 rebate. Once your system is installed, you should contact Kosciusko REMC to schedule an inspection. When the inspection is approved and you submit the rebate application form and proof of purchase, the rebate will be credited to your next month's bill. The Marshall County REMC offers a $200 rebate on an add-on heat pump and $300 on a geothermal heat pump. Once your heat pump is installed, you should set up an appointment for an inspection and to complete the rebate application form. You will receive a rebate check within four weeks. Members of the Miami-Cass REMC can claim a $500 rebate on a geothermal heat pump or an air-source heat pump with backup electric heat, and $100 on an air-source heat pump with backup fossil fuel heat. The heat pump must have a SEER of 13 or higher. You should present a paid invoice within 90 days of installation to receive a credit on your electric bill. The Northeastern REMC in Indiana offers a $250 rebate when you install an add-on air-source electric heat pump, a $500 rebate or $100 per ton for a geothermal heat pump up to a maximum rebate of $1,000, and $250 for an electric thermal storage unit. The $250 rebate for an air-source heat pump is paid as a $25 per month credit for 10 months, and the geothermal rebate as a $50 per month credit on your electric bill. You should have your installer contact Northeastern REMC to initiate the rebate process. Customers of Paulding-Putnam can claim a $400 rebate for adding an electric heat pump to their existing home heating and air conditioning system. Geothermal systems qualify for a $600 rebate when you agree to have a load management switch installed to control the backup unit during peak demand periods. You should ask your contractor for the rebate forms. Rush Shelby Energy pays a $250 rebate to customers who install an air-source or geothermal heat pump. The heat pump must have electric backup and a SEER of at least 12. You should contact Rush Shelby Energy at 765-544-2600 for more information and to schedule an inspection once your heat pump system is installed. Members of the South Central Indiana REMC who install an air-source electric heat pump with electric or fossil fuel backup, or who upgrade existing electric heat to an air-source heat pump can claim a $250 rebate. The air source heat pump must have a SEER of 14 or higher. A geothermal heat pump with an EER of 14.1 or higher also qualifies for a $250 rebate. To claim the rebate you need to send in a copy of the contractor's statement of work, the size of the heat pump, the SEER rating and the date completed. Southern Indiana Power offers a $100 rebate to customers who install an air-to-air heat pump in a new home or who replace an existing oil or gas furnace. There is also a $100 rebate for installing a geothermal system and a $50 per kWh rebate for installing an electric thermal storage unit. Members of the Tipmont REMC can claim a rebate for a new or replacement air-source heat pump. The rebate is $70 per ton for a 13 SEER rated system, $85 per ton for 14 SEER, and $100 per ton for 15 SEER, up to a maximum rebate of $500 per home or business. Geothermal systems qualify for a $100 per ton rebate up to $500. Half the rebate is paid upon inspection of the installation and the remaining half is paid as a credit on your electric bill spread over two months. The Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC offers a $300 rebate for installing an air-to-air heat pump with electric resistance, gas, propane, or oil backup in a new home. There is also a $300 rebate for replacing a fossil fuel heating and cooling system with a new air-to-air heat pump and for replacing an existing air-to-air heat pump with a new one in an existing home. The air pump must have a SEER of at least 12. Geothermal heat pumps installed in a new or existing home qualify for a $500 rebate and a free 40 or 52-gallon electric water heater. To claim the rebate you should send a copy of the paid receipt detailing the serial and model number of the new unit within 60 days of installation. Members of the Wabash County REMC can claim a $600 rebate when they install a new or replacement all-electric heat pump. No specific efficiency level is required but they recommend a SEER of 14 or higher. A new or replacement geothermal system also qualifies for a $600 rebate. The WIN Energy REMC offers its members a $250 rebate for an air-to-air heat pump in a new home or for replacing a fossil fuel system. A geothermal system also qualifies for a $250 rebate. The heat pump must have a SEER of 13 or higher and both air-to-air and geothermal heat pumps must have electric backup. All installations are subject to inspection. To claim the rebate you must submit a bill of sale with the installation date, size of the heat pump, size of the backup electric system, the model and serial number of the heat pump, and your WIN Energy account number. You must request the rebate within 30 days of the installation date. Water heater rebates The Bartholomew County REMC will furnish a 40 or 50-gallon A.O. Smith electric water heater or reimburse you $250 when you install a new energy-efficient electric water heater in a new home or when you replace your present gas or fuel oil water heater with a new electric energy-efficient model. To apply for the water heater or rebate, you should contact them as indicated on their website at www.bcremc.com under Products & Services - Water heater program. The Carroll County REMC offers its members a rebate of $150 when they purchase a 50-gallon or larger electric water heater for installation in a new home, to replace a natural or propane gas unit, to replace a non-repairable electric unit, or to upsize to a larger unit. You can purchase the water heater from your retailer of choice. It must have an energy factor of 0.90 or higher. You should apply for the rebate at the Carroll County REMC office, with a receipt or proof of purchase. The rebate will be credited to your account. Central Indiana Power gives its customers a $100 credit for the purchase of a new or replacement electric water heater 40 gallons or larger. You should call them at 317-477-2218 for more information. The Clark County REMC offers its members a $200 credit on their electric bill when they install an electric water heater in a new home, replace a gas heater with an electric heater, or replace an electric water heater over five years old that is leaking. Members of the Dubois Rural Electric Cooperative who install an electric water heater in a new home, add an additional electric water heater in their existing home, or replace a gas water heater with an electric heater can receive a rebate of up to $150. You have until December 1, 2008 to apply. The Harrison REMC pays its members a $150 rebate for installing an electric water heater in a new home or for replacing a gas water heater with an electric heater. Members of the Jackson County REMC can claim a $125 rebate for installing an electric water heater in a new home or replacing a water heater that uses gas, oil or wood. Replacing an existing electric water heater does not qualify for a rebate. You can download the application form on the website www.jacksonremc.com under Member Services - 2008 Jackson County REMC Incentive Program. You have 60 days after installation to submit the rebate application. The Jay County REMC will give a $150 credit to its members who purchase and install one of the Rheem® electric water heaters they market. Prices of the water heaters range from $200 to $650, depending on the model and capacity. Members of the Kosciusko REMC can claim a $75 rebate for replacing an electric water heater, $125 for replacing a gas water heater with an electric heater or for installing an electric water heater in new construction, and a $50 rebate for installing a second electric water heater. Under its water heater program, Marshal County REMC will provide a free 40 or 50-gallon electric water heater for new construction or to replace a gas water heater in an existing home. Members can purchase an 80-gallon electric water heater for $250 plus tax. For $125 plus tax you can purchase a 40 to 50-gallon electric water heater to replace an existing electric heater. Through Paulding-Putnam's water heater program, its customers can claim a rebate of from $125 to $200 when they install an electric water heater in a new home. Customers who replace an existing non-electric water heater with a Marathon electric water heater can receive rebates in the form of discounted purchase prices. You can save from $350 to $450 depending on the model and size of the water heater. Customers who replace an electric water heater with a Marathon water heater can receive a $25 rebate. Rush Shelby Energy will pay its customers a $150 rebate for installing an electric water heater in a new home or for replacing a fossil fuel water heater with an electric heater. The water heater must have an energy factor of 0.75 or greater. You should contact Rush Shelby Energy at 765-544-2600 to schedule an inspection and to present your purchase receipt once your water heater is installed. Members of the South Central Indiana REMC can receive a free 40 or 50-gallon electric water heater to be installed in a new home or to replace a gas water heater in an existing home. Southern Indiana Power offers a $100 rebate for installing an electric water heater in a new home or for replacing a gas water heater. You need to send in a copy of the paid receipt detailing the serial and model number of the new water heater. Members of the Wabash County REMC can receive a free 50-gallon electric water heater for installation in a new home, to replace a gas water heater in an existing home, to replace an existing water heater that is leaking or non-repairable, or to replace an existing water heater over 20 years old, regardless of its condition. The installation of a load management switch is required. If you purchased an electric water heater from another source you can get a $100 rebate.
